Why Her Reclaim? The Meaning Behind Our Name

This is your body. Your mind. Your story. Reclaim it.

A name should mean something, especially when it represents something as personal as your health.

Her Reclaim was created for women navigating hormone change, whether that transition happens gradually through perimenopause and menopause or suddenly through surgery or medical treatment. While every woman’s experience is different, there is something many of us share: the feeling that our bodies have changed before we fully understand what is happening.

Hormone change can affect sleep, energy, mood, cognitive function, metabolism, and other aspects of health and well-being. When several of those changes happen at once, it can be difficult to separate what you are experiencing from who you are.

That distinction became central to our name.

Your hormones changed. You didn’t.

Her Reclaim is about understanding what has changed, finding the right support for your individual needs, and taking an active role in what comes next.

Why “Her”

The first half of our name is simple: Her.

Women’s health has historically included significant gaps in research, education, diagnosis, and care. Hormone change is one area where those gaps can become especially visible. Women may enter perimenopause without understanding what it is, reach menopause without knowing what changes to expect, or experience an abrupt hormonal transition following surgery or medical treatment.

Her Reclaim was created specifically for those women.

“Her” makes the mission clear. We are building a women’s hormone wellness company focused on providing thoughtful products, useful education, and credible information for women navigating hormonal transition.

But the second half of our name is where the philosophy of the brand really lives.

What It Means to Reclaim

To reclaim something is to take ownership of it again.

For us, that does not mean trying to reverse aging or return to some earlier version of yourself. Hormone change is not something we believe women should be ashamed of, hide, or fight simply because their bodies are changing.

Reclaiming is about moving forward with greater understanding and agency.

It means learning what is happening inside your body so you can ask better questions. It means understanding the options available to you and making decisions that fit your health, circumstances, and preferences. It means refusing to accept confusion as the standard simply because women before us were expected to.

Most importantly, it means separating change from identity.

Your body may require different support than it once did. Your hormones may behave differently. Your needs may change. None of those things erase the person underneath them.

That idea became Her Reclaim.

The Bison Behind the Brand

You will notice a bison woven into the identity of Her Reclaim, and it was chosen intentionally.

Bison are remarkably adapted to harsh conditions. During severe winter weather, they have been observed facing into storms rather than simply turning away from them. Their heavy coats, powerful bodies, and natural resilience allow them to continue through conditions that would send many animals searching for shelter.

That image stayed with us because there is something deeply relevant about it.

The point is not that strong women should simply endure difficult things. Women have been told to “just deal with it” for far too long.

The meaning is different.

You can acknowledge the storm and still move toward it.

For a woman navigating hormone change, that might mean deciding that you are going to understand what is happening instead of continuing to guess. It might mean walking into your next medical appointment with better questions. It might mean learning about hormone therapy and non-hormonal options so you can have an informed conversation with your clinician. It might mean changing how you support your sleep, nutrition, stress response, or long-term health.

Facing the storm does not mean doing it without help. It means deciding that avoidance, confusion, and silence are no longer the plan.

That is the spirit behind the bison.

Her Reclaim Is About Moving Forward

The word “reclaim” can sound like going back, but that is not how we define it.

We are not interested in selling women the idea that the goal of hormone wellness is to become younger. We are interested in helping women understand their bodies now and supporting them as they move into what comes next.

That philosophy also shapes how we approach products.

HER RECLAIM CORE, our foundational daily non-hormonal supplement, was developed to provide nutritional and botanical support for functions commonly affected during hormonal transition, including energy production, cognitive function, mood balance, metabolic support, and micronutrient sufficiency. It contains no estrogen, progesterone, or other hormones.

CORE is one form of support. It is not a replacement for medical care, and Her Reclaim does not believe there is one correct path through hormone change. Some women use hormone therapy. Some use non-hormonal medical treatments. Some use nutritional and lifestyle support alongside medical care. Individual medical decisions belong between a woman and her qualified healthcare provider.

What we can do is make the landscape easier to understand.

Building What We Wanted to Find

Her Reclaim was designed to become more than a supplement company.

We want women to be able to come here when something begins to change and find information that helps them understand what may be happening. We want them to learn about perimenopause, menopause, surgical menopause, medically induced menopause, symptoms, treatment options, long-term health, nutrition, supplements, and the research shaping women’s hormone health.

We want our products to earn trust rather than demand it.

And we want women to leave Her Reclaim knowing more about their bodies than they did when they arrived.

That is why the name needed to extend beyond any single symptom, life stage, or product. From the beginning, Her Reclaim was intended to represent ownership, dignity, clarity, and forward movement.

This Is Her Reclaim

There will always be things about hormone change that we cannot control.

But knowledge changes how we move through it. Support changes how we experience it. Having better information changes the conversations we can have with our healthcare providers and the decisions we can make for ourselves.

That is what reclaiming means to us.

It is not pretending the storm is not there.

It is understanding what you are facing, getting the support you need, and continuing forward.

Just like the bison.

Your hormones changed. You didn’t.

This is your body. Your mind. Your story. Reclaim it.
